I play violin, piano, organ, and viola. I attended Northwestern University in Chicago on scholarship and graduated early with a BM to take my first job with the Florida Symphony.
After two years, I joined the San Antonio Symphony, also studying with Stephen Clapp who then was at the University of Texas in Austin. Summers I played Assistant Principal 2nd Violin in the Aspen Festival Orchestra on a fellowship grant.
Four years later, I moved to Oregon, where I had lived as a child, to become Assistant Principal 2nd Violin for the Oregon Symphony and remained in the Oregon Symphony until my retirement.
During those years, I also continued studying violin in master classes with Max Rostal and Tibor Varga in Switzerland, plus Kato Havas, Burton Kaplan and Denes Zsigmondy.
I soloed with the Oregon Symphony, Portland Festival Symphony, and Marylhurst Symphony. With colleagues from those groups I also started playing chamber music.
